The Senate has approved the
graduates of National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN) for the one year national youth
service for all Nigerian graduates
(NYSC), a NOUN site reports.
Hitherto, the graduates of NOUN
has been denied, largely because
of the intermittent nature of their course study and because the
institution was designed for
mature students with flexible
academic nature to suit the
working classes.
But as the institution is now dominated by young
Nigerians, most of which are
perceived not to have been
gainfully admitted into
conventional universities, coupled
with the current standard of the school, the authorities has
deemed it fit to list the
institution to participate in NYSC.
That’s a good news for them.
